FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions

Browse below to review the answers to the most common questions that I receive as a therapist. Review the list I’ve provided, and if anything is still unclear, get in touch and I’ll be happy to assist you.

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

The short answer - as long as it takes. There is no standardized amount of time to be in therapy. This is an individualized experience unique to you. Each of us are constantly growing and changing as people, growth is a life-long process, but how long you will be in therapy is up to you and your therapist. If you choose to engage in therapy with me, we will regularly check-in on how things are going for your and adjust our approach if necessary to ensure you feel you're making progress. It's important to be gentle and patient with yourself; there's no timeline.

WILL MY RELATIONSHIPS CHANGE?

Anyone engaging in therapy runs the potential risk (or benefit!) of... changing... which is also why you're seeking it, right? As we grow and level up ourselves, so do our relationships with the world and people around us. As a result, yes, your relationships might change. Change is not inherently a bad thing though. What that change looks like can vary widely from more time spent together, to easier communication, to the ending of relationships. I am not able to say what exactly change will look like for you and your relationships but we absolutely can explore this together throughout your therapy process.
